Gingko!

Ginkgo is a genus of highly unusual non-flowering plants with one extant species, G. biloba, which is regarded as a living fossil.

The house I have purchased is a highly unusual home, a single odd species in the neighborhood, a living fossil from an earlier time when its features made more sense.

Many mutations have occurred, the most recent being its customization to the prior owner’s taste in electrical fixtures and geometry.  It is now my turn to keep this specimen viable, to bring it into this century, to make it a home for my life interests and activities.

I have many plans, but first, some un-remodeling and basic maintenance are needed.  I am not a natural blogger, but maybe now, with the incentive to share the experience, I will be able to post pictures of this project and make comments along the way.
